English Language Learners, one of the fastest-growing populations in American public schools, are essential members of our communities. But our education system is failing to meet their needs.
Nationwide, ML students are five times more likely to be out of school than their English-speaking peers.
Too often, the U.S. school system fails to create environments that empower and equip English Language learners. We know that with the right approach, students who previously couldn’t write their own names can jump three grade levels in math and reading in as little as one year.

Built by and for refugees and immigrants, Fugees Family has a 20-year track record of working with English Language Learners.
Our model is designed to meet the specific needs of new American youth navigating a new culture and community.
For ML students in the U.S., English equals opportunity. Our English immersion model gets students up to speed in a safe, supportive environment that encourages English acquisition while celebrating each student’s cultural identity.
