Fugees Family is a national nonprofit organization and operator of the only network of U.S. schools dedicated to refugee education. Their model is designed to meet the needs of refugee students through English language acquisition, culturally relevant curriculum and wraparound supports, arts programming, and soccer for all. 

Bio of Luma Mufleh, our Founder & CEO

Luma Mufleh is the founder of Fugees Family. As a Jordanian-born daughter and granddaughter of Syrian refugees, her mission is to bring innovative and welcoming education models for refugee students and English learners to communities across the U.S. She is the author of two books, Learning America (2022) and From Here (2023).
